Frequently Asked Questions
About Working with Us
How do you charge for your services?
Our fees are transparent and clearly communicated upfront. For wealth management clients, fees are typically asset-based and cover investment management and ongoing advice. For planning or consulting engagements, we may use flat or project-based fees depending on the scope of work.
Do you earn commissions?
Our advice is designed to be objective and aligned with your interests. In most cases, we operate on a fee-based model. If insurance solutions are recommended, we fully disclose any compensation and focus on what’s appropriate for your situation.
Is there a minimum to work with The Retirement Studio?
We typically work with business owners, executives, and equity-compensated individuals with more complex financial needs. Rather than focusing strictly on account minimums, we focus on whether we can add meaningful value.
Who holds my assets?
Your assets are held at Schwab Institutional or Fidelity, two highly respected custodians known for strong security, transparency, and reporting. You always maintain ownership and visibility of your accounts.
Do you offer tax planning and filing?
Yes. We provide tax planning and optimization, and in many cases, tax filing services. We also coordinate closely with outside CPAs when appropriate to ensure strategy and execution stay aligned.
Will you work with my existing CPA or attorney?
Absolutely. We frequently collaborate with existing professionals and are happy to coordinate. If needed, we can also introduce you to trusted partners through our TRS Community.
What makes The Retirement Studio different?
We don’t believe great advice needs hype. Our approach is thoughtful, transparent, and grounded—focused on helping clients make better decisions over time, not chasing trends or selling products.
