Co-Founder & 401(k) Specialist

Brandon Barber believes retirement plans should be simple, practical, and easy to understand. He works alongside plan sponsors and employees as a partner. Not a vendor. Not a salesperson. His role is to help people slow things down, ask better questions, and make confident decisions about their 401(k).

A proud Texas State University graduate, Brandon has a deep connection to San Marcos and Texas State. His time there shaped how he thinks, works, and shows up for people. Straight out of college, he spent more than seven years at ADP working with business owners across Texas to streamline payroll and retirement plan administration. That experience gave him a clear view of how disconnected most retirement plans feel from the people they are meant to serve. Too much complexity. Not enough clarity.

Brandon carried that experience into roles at ProLiant and Paycor, where he worked closely with HR and finance leaders to identify inefficiencies and improve how employer-sponsored retirement plans were designed, communicated, and managed. What stood out to him was simple. When people understand their benefits, they use them. When they don’t, they ignore them.

That belief led Brandon to partner with Savvy and found The Retirement Studio. The mission is straightforward. Help plan sponsors reduce the noise and give employees education that actually makes sense. No pressure. No jargon. Just clear guidance from someone who understands both the plan and the people behind it.

Outside of work, Brandon spends as much time as possible outdoors with his family, supports foster care initiatives, leads his boys’ Cub Scout Troop, and serves through his local church. He’s a proud Texan who loves to dance- he actually met his wife two-stepping during college.
